STORMS ON SUPER TUESDAY

The Severe Storms Prediction Center is showing the Central Plains and Mississippi valley as an area to watch for severe weather.
The surface analysis shows a low over Arkansas that is pulling up warm mosit air with breezy winds out of the S at the surface. Just off the ground is the low level jet pumping up Gulf mositure and adding to the shear.

At 500 mb a virgourous short wave is
diving southeast providing large scale
lifting of the air and divergence aloft.

The horizontal spin of air called helicity is extremely high around 600.
Anything over 300 and there is a good chance tordadoes will develop and be sustained for a long duration.
