The image above is taken from a satellite called AQUA with a specific instrument called MODIS which flew over Jacksonville at 11 am on Wednesday. It shows very high detail and clouds are clearly visible crossing the coast of St. Johns and Flagler counties. The St. John's river is clearly visible. Cold air flowing over the warmer Gulf stream resulted in these clouds. The trajectory from gusty northerly winds has brought the clouds ashore where the concave coast turns southeast.
Small lines in the cumulus field appear and these are called cloud streets.
